Waxed “Ducittu” Cheese

Ducittu is our block of waxed stretched curd cheese, from 100% Sicilian cow’s milk.

We named it Ducittu for its sweet taste, very reminiscent of that of the milk itself, and for its soft texture, which allows for easy slicing. The elongated format, covered with a beeswax coating, makes it a versatile cheese, both as an ingredient and uncooked.

Ingredients: Pasteurized MILK, rennet, salt and lactic ferments. Coating agent: beeswax.

Origin of milk: Italy – 100% Sicily

Format: 0,50 kg / 1 kg

Keep in the refrigerator at +4°/+6°

The product can be used as an ingredient in food preparations or consumed “uncooked”, as in the typical Italian cheese tradition.

Shelf Life: 60 days.

Appearance: elongated loaf coated with wax

Color: white tending to yellow

Taste/odor: sweet and milk taste
